May 13, 2021: The Petition to End Lockdown Worked!

Read the update on our News page. The DC Jail has been on medical lockdown for 394 days, meaning the 1,500 residents of the jail have been in their cells for 23 hours a day for that amount of time. DC is unique in the country in maintaining the lockdown for this long and there has been no plan to date to end it, despite requests to multiple District leaders to do so.
