Anthony Petty Advocates for More Housing for Returning Citizens
Our core team member, Anthony Petty, gave compelling testimony before the DC Council calling for more funds to support housing for returning citizens.
As he shared his personal experience, he noted, “One of the biggest challenges for people like me when we get released is getting access to safe, affordable housing in a timely manner. People like me come out of prison with no work history, no credit history, no rental history, and no savings, meaning we do not meet the typical requirements for housing rentals on our own and our prospect of getting housing is limited.”
